You guys on this board are the best! You've helped me before and I am sure you'll help me again.

My 2005 Accord EX sedan just started having the following problem. When I put the turn signals on for left or right, I just get a buzzing noise from inside the dash. Hazard flashers don't work either. Occasionally, the signals will work for a click or two, then right back to the buzzing. Any suggestions?

I've seen other posts mention relays, but if this is the issue, where is the relay located in the car? I checked the fuses and they are fine.

Start it buzzing and track it down by ear.

Finally tracked it down by ear as suggested. The buzzing noise is coming from a grey cube about 1 inch by 1/2 an inch located just above the interior fuse box. My problem is trying to pull that grey cube out. I don't want to break the tabs that hold it in. Does anyone have a trick or tip on how to pull that grey cube out (or tell me what it is?)

It's a relay. It should just pull out.

Is it buzzing or clicking really fast? If it's buzzing the relay is bad. If it's clicking really fast it's not the relay, you have a short in that circuit.

To test it: All relays act the same but, look a little different. They have 2 circuits. You have 2 prongs for the control circuit and 2 prongs for the circuit that does the work. Usually the prongs for each circuit are across from each other but, a lot of the Hondas have 2 small prongs (control) and 2 large prongs (work circuit). Take 2 jumper wires and attach 1 to the battery positive and 1 to the battery negative. Now jump 1 wire to 1 prong on the control circuit and the other wire to the other control prong. You should hear 1 click a soon as you touch the second wire to second prong. If you're not sure which prong is which and you're not hearing a click try every combination of prongs. Don't worry, you're not gonna hurt a relay that way.

It's buzzing, not clicking. I'll pull it and change it and see if that solves my problem.

It was the relay, problem solved. New relay from local Honda dealer was $27.00. A little pricey but peace of mind with original Honda part.

If I can figure out how to upload photos, I will post a pictorial of the repair.
