Default 2003 Honda Accord- Oil Issues

I Need some help. 1 month ago I took my 2003 Accord in to a Honda Dealership to get serviced. 120,000 mile Major service interval according to the owners manual. Cost was around $420 and did not include an oil change because I had performed one myself right before taking it in. Picke up the car and everything was fine. I was totally happy with the price too and the service seemed to be great.

Unfortunately, after putting about 2,500 miles on it the oil light came on. This was very unusual because I religoulsy change the oil between 3,000 and 4,000 mile mark, I also use Synthetic oil at that. So I checked the oil and it was barely touching the dipstick. I filled it back up with synthetic oil and then did another oil change. Well to my surprise I find that the "air flow chamber" (that is what they call it on the parts drawings) not correctly reinstalled. I can post pics.

My question is this: Does the airflow chamber affect oil consumption if not correctly "installed"? Its a 4 cylinder by the way, I believe its the K20A???

when u did ur own oil change did u by any chance reset ur oil life/maint req. light? alot of customers and other lube places dont reset those and after a few hundred miles of driving they come to the dealership sayin they just had their oil change done and the light is on..

how much oil did u put into the engine?

not sure what "air flow chamber" ur talkin about but i wouldnt think that would affect ur engine oil

Even them not installing the tube into the intake pipe wouldn't cause that king of oil consumption. I would definitely monitor it closely.

Light was reset by them as part of the service! I put 5 quarts in every time, right on the money as always.
I believe the Air flow chamber is a circulatory system for emissions. I thought that it may affect oil consumption due to the fact that it is a direct out for heat, moisture, unspent exhaust gas. I was thinking that if there was no piping directing those elements anywhere that oil would dissipate from that outlet. Maybe I am looking into it too much?
Simply could be a carbon saturated piston ring "stuck" and not scraping the oil back down.

Update: May have definitely been a stuck piston ring! Changed the oil and checked at 1,000 miles. It was about a quart low! I figured I would try and reduce carbon build up and sludge by using better grade fuel as well as Lucas fuel additive and Marvel Mystery oil (does wonders I found while in school a few years back).
It's been 500 miles and no sign of oil consumption yet so It may have helped. We will see!

Yep! So I thought we were good.. Took a trip to Canada to see some friends this past weekend. Burned a quart every 1,000 miles for sure. I don't get it! Got it stuck in my head that the Honda Dealer who serviced my car may have something to do with it (not intentional of course). Took a better look around my engine compartment and doesn't look like the valve cover even came off??? This dealer isn't being very assertive with the matter or even calling me back. WTF?
