Default Rod cracks after reman

Had to alter this post because after initially thinking the timing belt slippe doff after a full reman on an 05 v6 accord, it was actually a rod that cracked.

What could have caused this? Is this sloppy work on the part of the engine rebuilder or just bad luck???

Wow, that blows. I'm glad I changed my tensioner. How many miles were on it?

When you had the engine rebuilt did you use an OEM belt, and tensioner?

That's most likely the reason. Spend the money and use OEM parts.

Luckily it is covered but I am starting to think this car is jinxed. Yes, it is a reputable engine shop.

Help!,,
Ive done dozens of Honda V6 engines in that model year range, and ALL of the tensioners were leaking or starting to leak, including the one on my own mothers car.....

actually, found out it was not the belt, the Rod broke and cracked the case. Reman guy has to do everything all over again.

Sloppy work or just bad luck???????????
