2003 6/6 groaning above 3500 RPM
I'm baaaaaack.....
For those of you who don't know me, I like to do my own work. I'll skip the background, but I've had a 2003 Accord 6/6 for about a year now. It's my daily driver, so I won't be molesting the engine or transmission beyond basic maintenance and upkeep. It's recently started making what I can only describe as a groaning noise above ~3500 RPM. Thought it was clutch-related, but I have a brand new Exedy/LuK clutch, and LuK flywheel, just professionally installed two days ago (because **** dropping the subframe), and the noise persists. It's definitely noticeable. I searched around HT as well as the internet, and the only information I could find was related to power steering, which isn't an issue. Noise persists in all gears, including neutral, regardless of AC on or off. Is this a common problem that I'm just failing at finding? What should I be looking at? I'm not scared to do tests and diagnose before replacing, I just need to know where to start.

Seemingly unrelated issue today ended up resolving this issue, so update. Dash lights all came on, car died, long story short, my alternator **** the bed. Replaced it and the battery, test drove, redlined through second, and no more noise. It was the alternator dying making the noise.
