08 Accord Engine sounds awful
Searching across the internet to see if anyone had this same problem. I have a 2008 Honda Accord V6 coupe, 6-speed with about 57,000 miles. I pretty much have little to no back ground in auto mechanics so please bear with me as my terminology may be a little off.
The problem i have is that my engine sounds like a diesel engine. It just started maybe 3000 miles ago, and i thought a oil change would do the trick, but it hasn't. The sound can be heard inside the cabin even with the windows up. Honda wants like a few hundred dollars just to look at it since it's out of warranty. When i open the hood and try to pin point the sound it sounds like it's coming from the top of the engine block, and it has a very distinct 'TAP TAP TAP' going on.
Some background on the car. It was bought new by me, and i had the oil changed every 8,000 miles. No scheduled maintenances were ever done on it so i'm thinking thats what caused the problem.
I'm looking for some direction. I don't know which way to go.
Thanks!

Yes, the V6 engine is loud, it's normal for the fuel injectors, and let's remember Honda use mechanical tappets , not hydraulic.
Since you mentioned you can hear it in the car, that may not be the norm.
Have the dealer look at TSB 08-017.

It should be a goodwill repair. If not, bitch about it. Some service advisors know nothing about cars. You may have to spoon feed them along the way. Print the TSB out if you can.
