06 ex coupe
hey guys, as you already might know im looking to buy a 7th gen accord coupe very soon here and ive been shopping around A LOT! the point being i came across a deal with this guy selling his 06 EX coupe w/hfp kit w/rims, dropped w/koni's, apex exhaust, and dark blue for only $18000. It only has 17000 mi on it and it looks sweeet. I went and test drove it already and it felt fine but im wondering why its so cheap? he said it was a clean title but how do i know for sure? what should i do??

The first thing you'll want to do is visit http://www.kbb.com and input all the information they ask for, so that you'll have a basic idea of the private seller price in your part of the world.
The price he is quoting doesn't seem too far off, but he has made some changes that he might not be happy about. "Dropping" a 2006 Coupe? With Konis? I've never known anybody w/Konis on one of the big late model Accords. How did he "drop" it?
Look at the tyres carefully for unusual signs of wear. Drive the car on the Interstate at decent speeds (70 mph) to see if it's a handful or doesn't seem quite perfectly stable at high speeds. You'll want to make sure the car's aligned perfectly, in other words.
I've also never seen any point in adding an exhaust to one of these late model cars, unless you mean it's a K24 instead of a J30 motor.
But first step is to input all the information at kbb to see what they say it should sell for, private party to private party.
Be careful making changes to the big J30 cars. Honda's HP rating of 245 on these things is like 258 SAE Net, so there's not a lot you're going to want to do. Most of us don't really want a 300 HP Accord, do we?

Re: 06 ex coupe (George Knighton)
yea i understand what you are saying about the car not being properly modded. I checked the kbb before and it was listed at over $20 for private party value... but anyways i think im gonna get that 04 that i saw next weekend. I dont trust buying modded cars because you can never be sure if they modded it properly. Thanks so much for the help. i cant wait to get my 7th gen so i can post some pics!
