Default '06 Accord - Ipod with factory radio?

Hello, my parents have an '06 Accord Sedan and I was wondering if there was an adapter you could buy to use your Ipod with the factory radio? Or do you have to repalce the entire head unit?

Thanks.

I have the USA-Spec adapter. I recommend it. Do a google search for enfigcarstereo, that guy has a kit that comes with everything you need. You can also buy a RCA cable if you want to use other MP3 players

I'm working on resolving the problem myself in my '07 accord se

Here's what I'm doing.

I'm taking an auxilliary adapter like this one:
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_469HO03...ailed_info#Tab

Then using a auxilliary jack like:
http://www.westmarine.com/1/1/94654-...jack-male.html

to hard wire an input jack directly into my dash. I'll probably mount it up in the center console storage compartment directly in front of the gear selector or maybe in the compartment underneath the armrest by the 12v outlet that's already in there.

The reason I'm using a female input jack instead of a male ended cord coming out of the dash like most people see to be doing is to have a cleaner looking installation that is going to be compatible with all types of mp3 players using a male to male 3.5mm cord.

I'm going to try to do a write up about it next weekend after all my parts come in this week.

And then you can always buy one of the ipod adapters that allow you to listen to your ipod by tuning to a certain radio station. Those are great if you dont want to start messing w/ wires. Like chusoblu said, a quick google search should help.

So OP, have you any updates???

Here's how I installed my adapter:

I have an iPod adapter and 3.5mm jack input hooked up to my USA-Spec adapter.

Wired through the cubby hole...

Both iPod adapter and 3.5mm jack input side-by-side..... the 3.5mm is for my phone (pandora..etc) and also for other MP3s players. I rarely use it but just giving you an idea that you have that option. Its a Monster cable I bought separately.

Good luck. I hope your installation is successful regardless of what adapter you purchase.

Have installed USA-Sped PA15-Hon2 in our '08 CRV. Have iPod cable coming out through center trim panel beneath shifter. Amazing device. [Pics #1, #2]

A couple of things to consider while doing this upgrade: replace OEM speakers & sound deadening. Am doing the same with our '10 Accord. Have replaced OEM speakers with Alpine 17c2's. Added sound deadening material to all door frames & underneath rear speaker shelf. Have also deadened trunk floor pan, side panels, & interior bracings. Dramatically reduces road noise. If I get real adventurous, will deaden floor pan under seats to further reduce road noise.
[Have photos but having trouble getting them off of the camera SD.]

Will install same iPod unit to Accord when it arrives.

Finally got pictures to download. Here you go.

I'm just gonna get an aftermarket radio that can control the Ipod through the head unit. It will sound better and I may get some speakers to go with it. The head unit replaces the factory tray down below. You retain the stock headunit but it is disabled so you can still use the A/C.

Thanks for the how-to though.
