I have a 2003 Honda Accord EX V6. The other night driving home I was getting on the interstate and the care shifted into overdrive like normal but then went down to third and the TCS light came on like the system had a problem with it. The next couple of miles I drove at 60 mph and the car was surging like it was trying to shift into overdrive,but something was not allowing it to. I pulled over at my exit put my car in park and shut the engine off. I turned my car back on and it shifted into overdrive no problem and even cleared the TCS light. The TCS light comes on at random times, but never stays on. This however is the first time I have had problems with the transmission.
The car has 179K on it and I bought it at 129K. I changed the transmission fluid at 130K and everything looked normal as far as the filter and magnetic plug catch is concerned. Can anyone tell me what they think is going on. Im no mechanic, but I have tinkered with doing my own mechanics. I dont have much experience with automatic transmissions either.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Trans is on it's way out. Get a used one and sell car.

Could buy a reman trans for 2,000. Or sell the car and pretend nothing is wrong

Don't try to sell the car and act like nothing is wrong with it if you have a soul.

I'd go reman. A reman tranny is a heck of a lot cheaper than a car.
