I just replaced mine and I noticed this port is blocked off. I discarded the old one without looking carefully.

No. That is a blind hole and exists to support and orient that breather box that is plugged into the larger hole below.

Just curious--why does the Air Intake Cleaner Chamber have a hole here if the hose is blocked off?
