I was pulling in to a right turn diagonal parking space in a parking lot, with my foot touching the brakes, when halfway into the space, my 2017 Honda Accord suddenly accelerated and I had to step on the brakes hard to keep it from going any further. I was (and am) apprehensive to drive it now...what happened?? Has anyone recently had this experience? I read one incident on line where it happened to someone else, but Honda did not do anything about it and supposedly found nothing wrong with her car. she had sustained front end damage too!

Your floormat is probably bunched up under the brake pedal causing it to press the accelerator when the brake is pressed.
