Well, at least they're not charging extra for it, like a lot of companies. :-)

Hey Guys. First post. After years of driving German vehicles (VW and Volvo), my wife and I updated her 1996 VW Jetta to a 2018 Accord Sport. Wanted to stay with a manual transmission; didn't realize how few car makers there are that still make them. We test drove a new Jetta, Subaru Forester and a used BMW. Found out that the Accord Sport came in a stick shift and tried that last. Without a doubt, for the money and quality, the Honda out-shined them all. As we studied them more, we heard only super positive testimonies about Honda. Have nothing negative about our older Jetta; we gave it to our daughter for college; still runs like a clock with over 310,000 miles on it. Hoping to get the same distance out of our new 2018 Platinum Pearl White Accord! From what I hear, we should . Looking to learn a whole new car system for the forum!

It's interesting how Honda-Tech has very few posts for the 2015-current models, much less than 2018 models. Why is that?

We bought a 2018 Accord Hybrid Touring at the end of September. It'll be my wife's daily driver, although I will also drive it semi-regularly on weekends. She had been driving a 2007 Volvo C70, retractable hardtop, but wanted a car with four doors and a good-sized back seat, as she has been doing some volunteer work that requires driving people around. (The C70 is two-door, with a fairly minimal back seat.)

It's only our second Honda - the first was a 1986 Accord, bought new, and sold in 1996.....

I didn't start out specifically looking for a hybrid, but became intrigued by the technology. I also considered a Camry hybrid, but just couldn't get over the front-end styling.... In terms of the Accord hybrid versus Insight or Clarity, we wanted the increased room and somewhat better feature content of the Accord (versus the Insight). I thought about the Clarity a bit more, but decided that we probably weren't going to be diligent about plugging in every night. And unless you are really using the plug-in charging of the Clarity, it is not as good as the Accord Hybrid, if used only as a "regular" hybrid. Basically, lugging around a 10x larger-capacity battery pack only makes sense if you are actually going to plug it in overnight...

Other cars in our household include my daily driver, a 2010 Subaru Outback 3.6R Limited, which has 206k miles and will probably be replaced in a year, roughly. Plus a 1991 Mercedes 420SEL (215k miles) which is basically a "spare car" at this point, and my "toy", a '59 Corvette that I've had since 1981.

Spanning the range of automotive efficiency, from highly-efficient, to no efficiency whatsoever!

Hi, I'm new to this forum.
Canadian owner of Accord Touring, 1.5. 2018, had it for a few months.
From Quebec but live in Ontario for now.
Desperate to learn how to turn off the Auto-correct function on the Text Message reply app. I have to type
in english and in french and what it send is totally ridiculous.
Sincerely hope it can be done, otherwise I'll think it's the worst app ever. I've looked but can't find how to do it.
PS: this could possibly already be in the forum, I'll look for it soon. Sorry if it is.

I don't know. Different times, different ways of thinking, I guess.

There was a time that Honda-Tech and forums in general were the height of know how and engagement, but, then...social media.

There isn't much effort on the part of anybody to build the forums, either, but that's not my business.

I hope the 2018 and forward Accord models are successful. I've driven and spent a little time with both the 2.0 T 10 speed Touring model and the Accord Hybrid Touring, and they're both really very nice cars that I think would tick most of the boxes for most people even if you didn't think you'd be shopping for that kind of car going into the deal.

You only have to move to Acura if you're looking specifically for SH-AWD or a higher output car like the KC2.

Otherwise, I think that people looking down scale at cars like the Corolla, Prius or Civic, or people looking upscale at Acura and Lexus would be every bit as well served by this Accord model.

New owner here- 2018 Sport 2.0 Auto in black. Bought it on 12/28 and then put 800 mi in the first 48 hours. Really loving it!

edit: paid $31,300 all in w/ 2.9% promo. I was annoyed with the inflexible pricing that Honda seems to command.

With the current generation Accord, you're not going to get a huge price break, especially with the most popular versions. It's caught on well, and the sales of particular models are limited only by their ability to produce them in time.

To some extent, Honda compensates with easy to get, relatively cheap financing.

But watch out for the Finance Manager, or whatever they call them at your dealer. LOL.... They're sometimes better salesmen than your salesman was!

Glad you're enjoying it, though. :-)

Accord 2.0T Touring 10AT owner here. Pearl white with ivory interior. I really like the car except a few things... Transmission isn't the smoothest shifting in the lower gears. I've got a few little buzzes over really rough pavement that I can't figure where they come from. Lastly, I noticed my trunk lid has a paint defect where the bottom corner is bubbled. I just noticed that while washing my car yesterday. I'll be getting that resolved by the dealer soon. Bought my car in November. I paid $33,000 OTD. It included nearly $2K in dealer installed accessories, which I didn't want, so I didn't pay for them. Lol.

I would never have a CVT transmission, way too loud. I love my '17 Accord coupe with a manual trans. No alarm needed, cause nobody knows how to drive them anymore.

I was not referring to the CVT, but the 10AT. If Honda offered the 2.0T Touring with the 6MT I’d have bought it. But they don’t and I hate cloth seats, no sunroof and not getting real blind spot information system. PLUS, I couldn’t stand being forced to get black interior on the Sport and I prefer the adaptive damping suspension. 10AT isn’t a bad transmission, it just needs a software update to be perfect.

I've been in and out of Hondas and Honda-tech since High School. But I am finally back in a 19 2.0T Sport. Not really mine, it's the wife's, but it always good to read what folks are doing to them and problems and fixes.

Jeez I think the last time I posted was 2008. I since got rid of all my Honda's and drove a few different cars from a Lexus IS350 to a 2011 Mustang GT supercharged dynoed at 600rwhp. Last October I bought my daughters (gives you an idea of how old I am) a 2018 Honda Civic SE. Nice little car, I think the CVT works well with the power. Anyhow I finally had enough with gas prices and the pitiful mileage I was getting out of my 2017 Ford F-150 3.5 Ecoboost, not to mention it was a pain in the *** trying to park a supercrew with a 6.5 bed anywhere. Anyhow I went to buy a Honda CR-V EX-L, took it out for a test drive and absolutely hated it. The 1.5T felt no different or faster then the 2.0 in my girls Civic. Long story short I traded my truck in for a 2019 Honda Accord 2.0T Sport in pearl white. Dealer is still waiting to let me know when it will arrive. Pretty excited to be back in a Honda.

Bought new Accord Sport, 2.0t, 6-speed in November 2018. Had two BMW's before the Accord ...the Accord is better!

Hello all. I am new here. Just purchased a cpo 2018 accord touring, pearl white with black interior. Vehicle had just under 28k on the odometer.
Love the car but disappointed in the seat coolers. I thought they were actually cooled seats but I believe they are just ventilated plus the fans are noisy. Honda cheaped out on that.
Car has the 1.5 turbo engine and ct trans.

Even the KC2 Legend has fan driven ventilated seats. They are only "cooled" if you have cool air in the cabin that is being recirculated. :-)

Thanks for the reply George. I guess some manufacturers ventilate and others actually use ac cooling. Ventilation is better than nothing.

Vented front seat cooling is becoming more popular with more affordable models from many manufacturers. Adding a "chiller" to the internal fans at this point are only available in vehicles that cost three times as much as the Accord.

Hello all. I have a 2018 Touring 1.5T. in platinum white pearl. I bought it end of January as a CPO. It had 17950 miles on it. Initially had some buzzing and rattles but the dealer knew just what to do as their were tsb's and I had video that I showed them

Since then, the car has been awesome.

Hey all. New to being a Honda owner. I have the EX-L 1.5t. So far I love it. Great gas mileage and plenty of performance part to add on.
