2017 Honda Accord Sport needs new motor at 2,500 miles.
Bought my car brand new back in November Currently has 2500 miles on it. I was driving on the freeway yesterday when the engine check light came and the engine lost power. I pulled over and popped the hooD and there was a ticking noise coming from the engine by the water pump side. Got it towed to Honda and they called me today saying that they found metal shaving in the oil. They're calling it an internal engine failure. They're waiting on Honda for further instructions on whether to change just the block or to install a whole new engine. I really hope they decide to replace the whole engine. I feel like there's more chance of having problems in the future if they open it up and change the block only. Has anybody gone through this?
SERIOULSY THOUGH! IM STILL IN SHOCK!! THE CAR ONLY HAS 2500 MILES ON IT!!! WHAT THE HECK!!!?

Update: the district manager finally approved an all-new motor for my car. They said it comes in a few pieces and not 1 already-assembled unit. I wish it would have came as 1 already assembled unit. There is room for error when the service department has to put it together. Any thoughts people?

The new motor and installation will be warrantied, so if there are any issues, you are covered.
