Default 2014 Accord FCW/LDW Failure AGAIN

Hi everyone:

New member here and hoping to get some insight. On Memorial Day weekend, I was stuck in heavy stop and go traffic in 100 degree weather when the dash lights lit up to tell me that the FCW/LDW system had failed. I was able to drive the car without much issue until I had time to take it to my mechanic since I was out of town. Shortly thereafter, I had issues starting the car. Sometimes, I would push the start button and it would start immediately. Other times, I had to try up to 10 times. From reading the forums, the intermittent starting problem is well known.

My mechanic downloaded the trouble codes and was told that I needed a replacement ABS module. I bought a replacement from an identical 2014 Accord with 14K miles and had it installed. While at it, he installed a starter as well.

And everything worked fine....until yesterday.

I started the car and the message reappeared. There is a difference this time. When I go to turn off the car and press the starter button, it flashes green. If i press it again, it will turn off. Likewise, if I put my foot on the brake and press the button, the car will turn off.

Also, when I open the door after the car is off, I now hear beeping as if the car is in accessory mode. I've tried disconnecting the battery to reset the ECM and nothing.

Anyone have any ideas?

Here are some stats to help

2014 Honda Accord
4 Cylinder
95K miles
Navigation
Push button start

Thanks

Good bye Honda and hello Toyota. I think that Honda has many issues related to the 4 cyclinder that it refuses to fess up to. As a loyal Honda owner since 1996, I found this very disappointing given the historical reliability and customer service of the brand.

So, we will see how the new Camry treats me.

Did you buy the car new?

Yes, when it's hot the front camera does not work. It's just too hot, period. The warning light come on. Once it cools down, it'll work again.

Is this your original battery? Honda OEM battery sucks, and has sucked for over 10 years. Mine only last about 2.5 years. Now, I just replaced them straight up.

Does these description sound like your car? Hope these tips will help.

I will no longer buy Honda OEM batteries for that reason. I put an Optima red in and no problems

I changed the abs module as advised. Starter as well. Worked for a while then the warning (failure) came on again. Dealer stated they didn’t know but repair normally runs $1,900. They also stated it could be many things. Camera. Abs module (don’t know why since i replaced), starter (also replaced), camera, front sensor. Or computer or electrical problems.

That was too much. Toyota will hopefully fare much better.

Honda needs to address these complaints on these cars. From my research, it is a common problem across models.

Sorry to hear that. It's not Honda or Toyota IMO. It's just all the "added Tech." Perhaps your car is the new definition of a "lemon"

In the past, we may junk cars because the transmission is not working and a new one is $6,000. Not worth it.

In the future, we will junk cars because the touch screen is broken and goes blank. The car would be useless if the touchscreen does not work.
