2013 Accord manual - Disabling hill assist feature
I drive a 2013 Accord stick shift, and I'm trying to see if there is any way to get around the hill assist feature that holds the brakes for a few milliseconds in order to ease hill starts, which is useful for manual cars. I find the feature to be too unreliable. There's no indication when it's going to kick in and when it's not, so sometimes I'll be a little lax in my shifting thinking it will hold the car only find that it doesn't. Rather than play this risky guessing game, I'd like to find a way to disable it. Perhaps there's a fuse somewhere I can pull out and kill this thing?

Does this feature come on all trims? I have a 2014 sport 6sp and I havent noticed any hill assist.

Re: 2013 Accord manual - Disabling hill assist feature
I agree. It's so hit or miss. Slight slope will engage hill assist while closer to 90 degress than flat road does not.
I noticed while going through my Foxwell bidirectional scanner there was a selection for hill assist. I'm going to have to open that up and see what is offered because I'd rather disable it, than have it, if I cannot trust it. |
Re: 2013 Accord manual - Disabling hill assist feature
I don't believe hill assist can be disabled since it's controlled by the ABS module. Otherwise I would offer it myself.
I also own a 2013 Accord M/T and can't stand hill assist. I can't find anything in the factory ROM that controls it, but I suppose it could still be there. Message me if you want to tune it too. No KTuner/Hondata required either ;) |
