vtec question f22b2> f22b1

ok so my non vtec engine blew in my lx. got a vtec engine to replace it. included with the "new" engine was the ecm and the wire harness that is attached to the engine.

all of the wires in the connectors seem to correspond and the green/yellow wire of course is not present for the wire harness going into the cabin.

I pulled a pin from the blown engines wire harness to pig tail a length of wire to go to the ecm. is this the only connection I will have to make? or do I still need to pin the pressure switch also?

im not a newb... but im not so sure about the wiring, ive searched and only come up with head swap posts, meaning the non vtec block and wire harness is being used. so in that case I see the need for running a solenoid wire, a pressure switch wire, and a ground. im using vtec everything from the firewall forward as far as the wire harness goes...

just trying to be clear on what I really need to run wires for...

thanks

make it really easy on yourself, use your old harness and google "axidworks vtec kit" and buy a vtec pressure and vtec solenoid kit from him and run it to the ecu connectors .. pop open the back of the ecu connectors and slide the pins in and close it

you might need to swap pins a6 and a10 since you will need the vtec ecu but your existing harness might already have them swapped already ... research that

Re: vtec question f22b2> f22b1

id really love to be able to spend and spend and wait and wait. so I have to run the wires myself. It looks as though there is only one wire missing from the harness going into the cabin from the passenger shock tower(green/yellow) because the body trim is a LX. is this the only wire I must "run" myself?

is there a deviation between the pin up at the ecm for vtec and non vtec? I can just switch the pins for oil pressure if there is, rite? goin to search pin diagrams now...

Re: vtec question f22b2> f22b1

ok so ive answered my own question... the only wire I have to run on a 96 accord to complete the swap is the solenoid positive lead( grn/yel ) to the ecm pin A8. so there it is if anyone else is doing this.
