Default Vtec Head questions

I have a friend that has a v-tec sohc f22 head for sale. I have a f22b2 non-v-tec block. Will the head fit on the block and run effitiently? He does not have a valve cover for it. Will my non-vtec valve cover fit on it? And should i get a high-precision cam if i get it?

yes it will work, but it takes more than just bolting it in to work. the amount of time and money to do it, makes it not worth the amount of hp gain which is about 5hp.

Sorry guy, it is about 15 hp, and if you plan on building a sohc, do it. Everyone else here will tell you build H22. Do you what you want, not everyone here, and it is worth the head swap if you want to do a little extra work. Also, you ought to do a good ignition set up, most people over look that altogether.

nope, it's about 5hp. the rest of the power is made from the 4-2-1 header, exhaust, and intake manifold, all of which are the same as what was on the 92-93 EX which made 140hp.

i used to own a 92 EX and i have a 95 EX, that 5hp doesn't feel like anything. of course now i got an H22 underhood, DOHC VTEC is what makes power.
