The VSS is above your tranny but under the intake manifold. If you remove your intake, it would make it easier to locate.
Hopefully this site (http://www.cybertrails.com/~bestinth...tLocation.html ) gives you some help. I can take a pic tomorrow if you wish to get a better view.

these are from a 4th generation accord. they are preaty much the same.
this is the vss.
this is the tranny. the vss is on the right side of it. its the thing that has those things sticking out of it.
again these are from a 4th generation. but the tranny and the place of the vss are the same.

bringing this back from the dead!! but i need a little help sorry...
if the VSS goes bad (code 17)... do you have to switch the WHOLE thing??? or do you switch the little thing that sits on top??? kind of like this... ???
