Tranmission problem?

I have a 97 accord, v4, and automatic. The problem is that the car is hard shifting. every time it changes gear, it pulls back. It jerks everytime gears changes especially the first couple gears and it keeps getting worse. I changed the tranmission oil, it helps smoothing a little bit but after a month it goes back to the same worse condition.

How should i go about fixing this or ?
Anything helps

thanks guy

i think perhaps you might need a new torque convertor.

do you need to pull the tranny out to replace that?

What do you think? Yes, it sits between the tranny and the block.

thats custom...

but yes, i would check the torque converter, or at least take it to a shop and see what they say as they might better diagnose the situation in person...

Might there be a chance that it's the speed sensor problem?
and if it is the torque converter problem, would driving with a bad torque converter damage the transmission?

i thought speed sensor will effect the cluster only, would it really effect the performance?

Check fluid level! Low fluid level could cause jerk when gear shifting. You might have a leak somewhere. Look under the car for red fluid. BTW, it is I4 not V4.

there is a product a company called BG , makes it is a tranny kit it comes with a bottle of detergent and 1 of conditioner ;;;some other stores might sell same thing but i am not aware of it, have been using the BG 1 and i have saved a few trannies but anyho if you can get such a kit here is what you do again it might work it might not in your case

first add the detergent can to the tranny , drive the car for about 25-35 miles do not and i say do not leave detergent in there and keep driving ,,,,after you have driven, drain the tranny fluid, put new fluid honda fluid works best and add the conditioner ,drive car and hopefully it will solve your problem if it does i would replace fluid again in a few thousands miles ,, ,hope it works

Re: (dadado)

check your engine mounts. one may be broken and that would cause extremely hard shifting since there is nothing absorbing the shock.
