Is there a twin cam head that bolts on to a 91 engine?

If so, would the wiring harnesses interchange?
Looking for high performance ideas beyond turbocharging.

Welcome to H-T. Please use the search feature as much as possible as most questions have already been cover more than once.

As for your question...

go here and go down about half way and you'll see a section called Hybrid Engines - The Frankensteins. Click on the links under that and you'll see whats involved in swapping a DOHC cam head onto a F series block.

Great link but there is no info about dohc heads on a non-vtec f22ax's that came in the 91 accords. Nice try though but doesn't help us... https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emthdown.gif

P.S. All you guys who have been on h-t for a while, stop hassling us new guys about searching. If you think we should search and don't feel like typing the answer to our questions, then just ignore the thread and keep to yourself. This is supposed to be a resource for fellow honda owners, so try to be a little more friendly... https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif

check out cb7tuner.com, i know some guy on there did a h22 head swap on this a f22a1, i don't know details though and it looks easier just to swap the whole thing in since the h22 just drops into our cars

There is no twin cam head that will simply "bolt on" to an F22 block. The swap has been done a couple of times by some guys on H-T but it requires a lot of custom work and in the end a full H22 motor swap is easier.

im pretty sure that the writeup on cb7 tuner said that the only modifcations were minimal..block a oil passage here, drill a hole here...(dont quote me on that)

but overall didnt seem to difficult. when i feel like searching for it i will post it

EDIT: thats for the h23, as far as i know the h22 is not possible, or damn near it.

haha, you sir are an idiot. Getting smart with me and all I was doing was helping, https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emthdown.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emthdown.gif to you. Why don't you take yourself to the search feature and do a search on "head swap" in the Accord forum and see what you find. You'll see threads where people asked about putting a H22 head on a F22A1 block. Inside you'll see people direct them to the same place I did and no one made a responce like yours, so I would think thats the right place to go. Also, in a thread somewhere on here I remember it being stated that all F22 blocks are similar, maybe not exactly the same but similar. Therefor any mod needed on say a F22B2 block would also be needed on a F22A1 block (both of which are non-VTEC motors by the way).

as for that comment. hmm... I didn't hassle him. I politely welcomed him to H-T and informed him of the search feature incase he didn't know. I wasn't like "search you noob!". I informed him of the search feature and also answered his question. Now if your getting upset with people telling you to search, to bad, maybe there is a reason they are telling you to search. Read through my replies in peoples thread and find one where I was rude by telling someone to search and didn't help them. I realize the search feature isn't all that great, sometimes because people don't make good thread titles that are search friendly.

Also, as for the last sentence of your quote, maybe you should take your own advice (in reguards to your opening comment). https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif

Anyways, this isn't the place for this conversation. Lets not clutter up his thread with this stupid bickering. If you'd like, you can PM me if you have a problem with my reply. Maybe I'll just ignore it and keep my comments to myself. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif

Ok, first off, lets drop the little "internet gansta" thing you got going on. I don't believe I was getting smart with you. I believe I stated that comment doesn't help us, meaning the noob's who may not know that f series motors dicussed in the link you posted, the sohc vtecs and the dohc vtec/non-vtecs, would be interchangeable on our old sohc non-vtecs. None of the threads were titled, "H22 Head on a F22A1 block... So how would you expect us to know that, are we Honda line technicians or something? I guess you would probably tell us to search for that too, huh?

I don't believe I need to search on this topic since I wasn't the one who posted. I have already heard my share of "search, search, search". I will agree that people need to search more, but guess what. He already created the thread, its too late, quit your bitchin. If you don't wanna reply don't, if you do thats great. But these long, drawn out b/s conversations are not need either. So the next time you feel like getting big, take a deep breath, get in your car, take a ride and relax. No need to try to get rowdy over a computer tough guy.

No, I don't have that problem. Although people have told me to search, you waste more space typing that crap then answering his question, posting a link, or just plain ignoring the whole thing. I didn't mean to "offend you" with the https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emthdown.gif but at first glance, it really wasn't what he was looking for. I have read your posts before I think you have helped a lot of people, including me. But the comment was all in fun and games, so if can't laugh at constructive criticism then thats not my problem.

This quote was meant as I joke, you know, when people laugh a rediculous things. Maybe you shouldn't take it to heart, or did I scare you...?

The reason I decided not to PM you is because you didn't PM me with your problems. You decided to post it so I did too. Anyway, lets just forget this and get on with helping people with there real problems, their cars. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

LOL, oook

haha, I wasn't being an "internet gangsta". I was saying it was stupid to act like that when I was helping.

I don't expect everyone to know everthing, hell I only know a little. What I don't know though I search for or ask if I can't find the answer.

county gonvernment? haha, no, an engineer. You really got me pegged don't yah https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif

if it was mostly a joke, next time put a https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif , https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif , https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif or something to convey the sarcasm. It's sometimes a bit hard to tell by just the words one types.

for the h23 head, theres really no modification needed. some decide to plug an oil passage, some dont. works either way. No drilling involved whatsover.

h22 IS possible, just a lot more complicated.

no one has done it yet, but I know of a few in the works.

one more thing, to the thread starter and the noob mouthing off, search.

why are you so lazy? A forum is meant for help, as in aid. NOT to fucking spoon feed everything you fucking want to know.
