Strong Vibration with A/C on? (97 Accord)
I've got a 97 Accord DX and the car has a strong vibration throughout the entire car when the A/C is on. I have had the car scanned and no error codes showed up. One mechanic tried replacing a motor mount to try to solve the problem, but that did not help.
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this or if you might have suggestions on what might be causing the issue.
P.S. The car has 41k miles and it is babied.
Thanks!
Steve

I'll also add that the car ran fine without any vibrations at all up until about 35,000 miles.
My guess was that there was some kind of sensor that raised the idle when the A/C compressor kicks on and this sensor is bad, thus causing the car to idle rough (slow) when the A/C was on. The only problem with that theory is that there is no check engine light or trouble codes that you would expect with a bad sensor.
It sure is an annoying vibration though.
I do hate to take it to the dealer. They want $75 just to give it a brief check up to see if they can diagnose it.

152k on a 94 -_-;;
anyways, what does the car idle at w/ the AC on? shift the car into netural, and get on gas very lightly w/ the AC on to bring the idle revs up. does it still shake/vibrate? maybe the idle control valves or TB isnt allow enough air to keep ti smooth. Crud builds up on the intake side over time.
