Default 96 Honda Accord V6 EX - oil seal repplacement

I'm thinking about changing all the oil seals on the timing belt side. Has anyone ever done this? Not sure if I want to tackle it myself if it's going to take a week or a PITA to do.
V6 seems to be the blacksheep.

The mechanic said it would require pulling out the motor. He wants to charge $900.

Is it that much of a PITA?

I've never messed with a 5th gen v6 accord but assuming you will be replacing the timing belt and water pump when replacing the seals, it should cost somewhere around $700 or so including the parts/seals. On any engine you should never have to pull the motor to replace the timing belts or seals. A reputable shop can do it with the engine in place.

I would search around for another mechanic.

Actually, with that being said, if he plans on replacing a leaking rear main seal as well, then I suppose it might be somewhat easier to pull the engine and do it all at the same time. If that's the case, then $900 is a fairly reasonable price.
