Some new stuff added to the 3rd gen accord.. (Pics)
Well it is time for me to post some stuff that has been done to the Turbo hatch lately (even though the car is still sitting without a motor in it (damn california smog checks!!!)
This first few pictures is of a Custom made Adj. cam gear
And this picture is of my rear disc brake swap I just did, just waiting on the drilled rotors for the rears, the ones on there are just temporary..
I am still working on the Vortech Fuel rail kit (have one modified to fit the 3rd gen accord intake manifold (special bracket I made.) Should go nicely with my R/C 500cc Peak and hold injectors..
And for those that have never seen the turbo hatch
What do you think of my work so far?
My next step is to get a motor so I can smog the damn thing,
then it is off to a Haltech Stand Alone unit, better fuel line/pump, solid hub custom clutch set-up, and 3.5" exhaust--have a lot more to do, just takes time, and LOTS of money which I am in short supply these days---expect to have it running in turbo trim by summertime...

Definitely the nicest 3rd Gen I've ever seen, very custom, glad to see people still "think outside the box."

Re: Some new stuff added to the 3rd gen accord.. (SOHCkordVTEC)
It was fun pulling up onto unsuspecting prey, but it takes a lot of time, effort, and money to get and make custom parts.... I am still looking at a way to find an LSD and make it fit into my tranny... But when parts get expensive, it is hard to do a trial and error thing...
The car is original, and that is what I like about it. I can drive down the street and be like "hey I am different." But it does come at a cost..

jballou, have you considered a modern B-series in there? How about a 2 liter CRVTEC? Even without F/I they make crazy power. It'd probably fit without to much work, certainly easier than the custom route you have now. That way you'd get plenty of aftermarket support, an LSD, and it'd still be a sleeper.
What is the engine code of your 3G anyways, F20-something?

Re: wow (n0b0dy)
No I am keeping the A20a3 motor that is in it.. I already have it built with custom rods and JE pistons.. It features a cast Iron Block---Before th clutch blew up, I was running 20psi of boost, probobly good for around 300-325hp to the wheels. The motor is a 2.0L anyways.. I like the Idea of a challenge, that is why I stuck with the original motor. I could have easily switch to the b18 and built it for the same cost I spent just to build my custom pistons and rods... My plans of right now, is to be boosting 25psi. hopefully I can squeeze out around 400hp to the wheels without Nitrous...--Plan on using nitrous in the future as well..
The stock weight of the car is 2476lbs, but with the A/C gone, the P/S gone, and most of the smog crap, plus a lot of the other bulky crap, I hope to get it under 2000lbs, but when I add the cage to it, I have a feeling that I will be around 2300llbs. on the car...

Re: wow (jballou)
This is the interior of my car
It will pretty much stay the same, might get seats for it, and I know a cage is going into it.
This is the motor set-up I had before I tore everything out---expect it to look a lot different when I have the new set-up in... (Lot less emissions crap in there, and the wiring lomb will be neater...)
another pic of it so you can acttuly see how small the car is..
Some more pictures

Re: wow (smokin rubber)
It got a little hairball at times, if you are not paying attention it can yank your hands off of the steering wheel (need to get rid of the torque steer.) It is nice to be in third gear and stomp on the throttle and right when the turbocharger spools up, the wheels break loose, and so does all of hell...
