Default sohc vtec swap?

have a freind that has a 92 accord with a dead motor. he wants to drop in a sohc vtec from a 95 accord. has anyone done this i searched and couldnt find anything. is it done like the sohc vtec swap in a 4g civic. with the origanial dist and a msd rpm swith for the vtec activation? thanks for the help

it should fit in, but probably need diff axles and possable fitment issues with the front motor mount, you will need to reuse the stock rear bracket and mount off the motor you are swapping from. oh yeah and ecu and harness as well

Should straight forward except for the vtec wiring. Does yer friend have a 95 f22b1 already?

no he doesnt. we found one at a local salvage. so it bolts right in and onto his auto tranny?

I wouldn't waste the money with this swap. If I were you're friend, I would rebuild the motor you've got. Something about salvage yard engines bothers me. If you do go with the 95 F22B1, make sure everything is in tip top shape before you buy it. You don't want to install that motor, only to find out that it's a dud.

My suggestion, if you really and truely want more power, would be to get an H22.

yeah, its a straightforward swap...all you need is the engine, ecu, and some wires...

engines from salvage yards get a from me
