Why would pure gas be in the exhaust manifold?

Check the fuel line that connects to the fuel rail, sometimes u need to tighten it up a bit, also with my h22a accord one of the O ring seals for the injectors had a pin hole in it.....

I suggest starting the engine and looking around for any leaks, with the engine running it will have fuel pressure and u should be able to pin point the problem very easy....

If your crack is upstream of the oxygen sensor, the leakage of exhaust would cause the sensor to have an inaccurate reading. It fools the motor into thinking it is running lean. The ECU attempts to compensate by adding more fuel. The reality is the engine is now running too rich, which is why you smell gas. My manifold is cracked and the same thing happens to me, especially when the manifold is cold and the crack is open the widest.

Look for carbon buildup on the manifold, or a little seafoam. That's how I found mine. You should hear a ticking noise coming from that area.

sounds legit to me, Id check for cracks to.....now that i think of it the way Chickin pickle put it he made a good point, but i would still check for any leaks in lines or anything.....If the exhaust manifold is cracked you should be able to tell, not only by the way the car sounds, but normally they smoke under the hood and fill the cab if its a cracked header....
