shutting off coming out of cold idle
I have a 95 accord lx L4 5spd. On cold mornings such as in the 50's and lower the car will be in cold idle. As it warms into warm idle(regular idle) the car will shut off and wont start till I wait like 5 minutes or so. After the wait it'll start right up and run fine while its warm.
Also if I'm on a tight time pinch (running late like most people are) and have to go, I'll jump in start it and off I go, only for it to do the same thing a few miles down the road from home. When it tries to shut off while driving the tach will bound all over the place as well till the car shuts off. Then have to wait on the side of the road for a few minutes, then it'll start and I'll be on my way.
Can anyone help me with this?

Re: shutting off coming out of cold idle
If the tach is jumping around that tells you the ignition control module(ignitor) is bad. It's likely that is causing the dying issue as the ignitor starts overheating and dying as it warms up.

Re: shutting off coming out of cold idle
It starts right back up (in like a few minutes) with no problems or a cel. Plus this happens before the temp needle get off the first bar on the gauge. How would it be overheating? It doesn't do it anymore that day unless it stays in the 20's-30's and then it has to be sitting for like 6-8 hours at that temp. I've been getting by with this for 2-3 years now. Ready to get it fixed.
