Rough Idle, But Only When Accessories Are On
I'm gonna apologize in advance because I wrote a novel. Ok, so I have a 2000 Honda Accord Lx, F23a4 motor, 5 speed manual transmission, 140,xxx miles. It idles at around 1500 rpm when its started cold and i can turn on any accessory i want at this time and there's no problem what so ever. Once it warms up and the rpms drop to around 800 it idles fine when all the accessories are turned off but as soon as i turn anything on, it starts to idle rough and send vibrations into the passenger areas. Even the sound of the idle changes, you can noticeably hear it slow a little, its a little deeper in pitch, and like the engine is straining a little. Also, the level of rough idle and vibrations depends on how many accessories are turned on. If I only have my fog lights and headlights on the vibration is still there, but much less than if I have my defroster or heat/air conditioning on too. I thought it might be something in the charging system, even though I had my alternator and spark plugs replaced about 7-8 months ago, so I went to Advanced Auto Parts and they ran one of their computers on it and my battery came up bad, everything else was fine. I got a new battery and nothing has changed. Any ideas?
