Rocker arm assembly reinstallation problem
Hi guys, I have a 97 accord with a f22b2 engine. The head gasket blew so I replaced that. When I had initially taken the rocker arm assembly off the head, the two exhaust side valve lifters for #2 cylinder were stuck on the top of the valves. Now I cannot get the rocker arm assembly reinstalled after i bolted the head back up. I haven't tried to torque rocker arm assembly down or anything because I can't push it down all the way to thread the bolts in, only by an 1/8 of an inch or so. The cam lobes seem to be making the valve lifters hit the top of the valve before the rocker arm assembly seats properly. Also one of the worst things possible happened, when the timing belt was off the cam with the valve cover still on the engine, I attempted to unbolt the cam from the engine with a ratchet because I was watching a video and they did it that way... And it turned 90 degrees counter clockwise. Then I turned it back to tdc and back to 90 degrees counter clockwise another time then back to tdc. So that happened twice. Yeah I'm the type of person who should probably study a little more before I set out to do something like a head gasket. Really had no prior car fixing experience to this. But anyways I'm thinking the rocker arm shaft could be bent? Or would it be the valves that are bent? Or the valve lifters? Or the camshaft by chance? I rearranged the valve lifters on the rocker arm assembly and it still was the cam lobes in the same place that make the lifters hit the top of the valves and then make the whole assembly not seat properly. I'm stumped, the valves looked good from underneath but I'm not that seasoned either so idk. Thanks for helping in advance
