Default h23vtec cost? , will it fit in a 94 ex or lx accord

sorry i own a integra so i dont know too much about accords yet but plan to learn more about them soon cause my brother is gonna either a 94 accord ex or lx... either way it has too be a automatic because he is a short person(like 23 yrs old and 3'5 inches)and cant drive a stick. hes had a 99 integra ls but it was way to slow. he thought maybe the ex motor in the accord might be a little faster and hed still be able to get a automatic... but i still dont think it will be that fast at all. so i was looking for bigger power in automatics and i couldnt find many engines to swap that yopu could get big numbers out of except for the H23 vtec, i think...
-first off it has close to 200 hp and like around 170torque right?
-it only comes in a automatic?
-it will fit in a 94-97 accord?
-how much does it cost for the complete motor shipping and all?
-what year accords did it come out in japan.

will the jdm engine drop right in the accord engine bay with no probs? what all will have to be done to make it fit if now? anyways any info would help me out a lot. thanks,Randy

You want an H22A. That is the DOHC VTEC engine you were describing. They came in the VTEC 92+ Preludes. You can get them in an automatic. Yes the JDM drops right in...Cost varies ALOT.

-first off it has close to 200 hp and like around 170torque right? i dunno where you got those numbers from.. h23 is 160hp/ h22 200hp (approx)

-it only comes in a automatic? no, only honda motors that "only" came in autos were V6's and that is starting to change

-it will fit in a 94-97 accord? Yes any F/H series motor fits nicely into an accord
its just like D/B series motors in civ/tegs

-how much does it cost for the complete motor shipping and all? depends on where you get it from try... hmotorsonline.com

-what year accords did it come out in japan.
what?

will the jdm engine drop right in the accord engine bay with no probs?
search and research the swap in short the ans is yes

what all will have to be done to make it fit if now? removale of the stock motor

sorry man i was reading a post in this forum where they were talking about a jdm motor a h23 vtec that had the numbers i posted and they were stock claimed numbers at the crank.. i guess i totally read it wrong... why is the h23 have a lot less power than the h22a? can you put a h22a head on the h23? kinda like the ls/vtec with integras. but i guess i didnt do enough research at all. i will look into it more before i post again. when my bro picks up this 94 ex accord what would you to do? just bolts on first or swap out the motor for something better... but keep in mind it has to be an automatic... 145hp seems a little slow to me. i have a 95 gsr which you know has 170hp, but a lot less torque than the accord, maybe thats where the accords make up for there lower amount of hp. plus the gsr weighs only 2600 to the accords 3000lbs.

actually there is a h23 vtec motor its rather rare tho the only place ive seen that carries it is oska (sp?) motors its from the 99sir accord wagon
as for power specs that sounds about right.

torque is what moves you buddy, the h22 makes more power from the h23 because of high compression better manifolds bigger valves ect.

maybe he was refering to the h23 block and the h22 vtec head. ive seen a few bone stock put 190 to the ground. but its a pain in the ***. most of them are not done right. keep it simple and just get like a jdm h22..
