New window motor and regulator on driver's side - wont go up
Newbie here - I bought a 94 Accord EX w/145K and the driver's side window didn't work. I bought a new reg and motor and had my local mechanic put it in while he gave the car the once over however after installing, he stated the switch was malfunctioning. I received a used switch tested at the yard and now both front windows do not function with either switch. Initially, the drivers side would go down but not up so he assumed it to be the switch. I doubt BOTH switches are bad so my question is this, which fuses control the front windows and does the multiplex reset come into play here as well? This is getting very frustrating since I'd like to get this car functional ASAP so I can rebuild my POS Windstar. I noticed tons of other people having similiar issues and I wondered if I'm overlooking some sort of How To Guide or just unclear. Thanks for the info, this site has educated me alot on my latest acquistion.

What year and model? Did you check fuses? Is it getting power and ground the the motor?

Its a 94 EX 4 door and its got power to the DS to go dow nbut the switch wont go back up - either switch. Originally, the DS was without a regulator and motor, which was replaced with new parts, and all the other windows worked fine. After the install, the driver side went down but not back up, so it was presumed to be the switch. After replacing with a tested switch, neither front window functions at all from the master switch. I dont know if the passenger side was checked at the door itself. The car is still at the shop, in no rush since my mechanic isnt thrilled working on foreign cars (my first mistake) I wondered if anyone knows which wire is the 3rd wire on the master side, in case its fraid or damaged somewhere, possibly when the original guts were removed. Thanks for any info....

What would be a good sale price for this car? 94 EX 145K auto, a/c, am/fm cd, just inspected. Body 7 out of 10, interior 8.5 out of 10, mechanically 8.5 out of 10. The car is in Western New York. I'd just like to get a gauge from other owners and the people in the know.

It is the switch panel on your door, not the regulator. I did the same thing about a year ago.

Since you have two switches the first thing I would do is take the original one apart. The actual switch is fairly easy to take apart just be careful and do it on a flat surface because the springs and contacts are easily lost. You should be able to tell if the contacts are burnt, if they are clean them up and reassemble the switch and try it out. If this corrects the problem you will still need a new switch because cleaning the contacts on a window switch is usually a band-aid type of repair.
It is most common for the up function to fail and the down function to work fine on those cars when the switch fails.

It just doesnt make sense that the 2nd switch was tested at the junk yard and said to be fully functional. They have 3 others as well but the rub is that they're 500+ miles away. I acquired as a favor from a Napa store manager - $35 compare to the $75-$90 wanted around here.
Thanks very much for the help - I was about to give up on saving a buck or two with this ride but being its our 3rd car, its not a major priority, just a project to take away my fishing time. Does anyone have any pics of the insides of a master switch??? If not, I'll attempt to disassemble with photos.

Re: (Two4trippn)
If you have a basic mechanical skill level the switch is pretty self explanatory. You take it out with the trim piece then unscrew it from the trim piece. Looking at the switch side of it you just have to pop out the indicidual black switch portion carefully and you'll see the contacts inside.
If you haven't done it by monday, PM me with your e-mail and I'll see if I can find a switch here at work and e-mail some internal pics to you.
