So first off, I don't think I've posted here in about 10 years, so welcome back to me, happy birthday to the ground, and all that jazz. I've since graduated, owned a bunch more Hondas, moved a few more times, owned a bunch of non-Hondas, worked on some amateur and pro race teams, and even racked up a little track time behind the wheel myself.

My heat control **** finally broke again on my '95, but I didn't snap it apart, just cracked it open and stopped. Since I finally broke down and bought a good pair of ear clamp pliers last year for racing, I instinctively knew how I would repair this.

The thing is so tight now, I can't take it off again. The same principle is used in fancy plastic pipe fittings, where the female side has a stainless band around it to stop it from splitting when tightened very tight. I also found out that it's probably been a little cracked for a long time, because now the **** is much more direct, and it doesn't try to stop before it hits full cold.

I guess you could do the same thing with zip ties, or multiple layers of heat shrink if you don't own those special tools. but I like that idea
