F22B2 Engine
what up guys, I have a F22B2 engine on my 94 accord coupe. 2.2 liter,
I was wondering if this is a good engine to put money into, it has 142,xxx miles on it.
my budget is really low so any ideas are pretty much good,
I have 5 grand to spend...

they arnt bad. can make 280whp pretty reliably with a turbo set up. if you actually have 5k. id sleeve it, put some good internals in it and boost the **** out of it and make 350-400hp

nice man, 350 to 400 hp is good enough for me as long as i can take out those g35's and 350z's that have been smoking me every time I step on gas and go over 3000 rpm on 1st gear they think I wanna race them. Can anybody else gimme some direct links on which parts are good upgrades for this engine, like intake, headers, exhaust, performance chip, turbo charger/super chargers, etc...I wanna make it look and sound as innocent so others think its stock...

well the f22 n/a isnt going to make the power to beat a 350z unless you put more than 5k in it. you could probably get away with just rebuilding the bottom end with forged internals and make 300-350. check out f22parts.com and tasauto.com.
a performance chip isnt going to due you any good. you need something like crome or hondata to tune the car.

Although the F22 has a slightly smaller Bore than the H22, it has a longer stroke. On paper it is capable of developing more torque, which is what you need for a lard-*** like the Accord. Both are the same displacement. they just get there differently.
There is additional room in the F22's block for oversized sleeves and larger pistons; giving you an easier path to larger displacement without the mechanical gyrations required for the H.
Don't get me wrong; the H22 occupies a much deserved place in Honda lore, but you must remember that it was specific built for lighter chassis (The 'Lude, Euro R Accord etc) was paired with a transmission with a steeper gear set and was designed (by virtue of it's more oversquare design) to rev higher.
Put an H into a Civic and you'll have all manner of fun.
The F will do quite well (if done right) in your Accord.
