Outside taillight out

Outside taillight out
I have a 98 accord EX 4door sedan. The outside (fender) taillight is out. The brake light in the same bulb works ok. I replaced the bulb but it still won;t come on. All other lights seem to work ok. would like to troubleshoot further but I can't seem to find a good wiring diagram. The socket has a minor crack so I am suspecting maybe the socket needs replaced but I want to verify that I am getting voltage to the socket.

Re: Outside taillight out
Probe the GRN wire to the socket with the brake pressed and verify you have voltage.
The BLK is the ground for the circuit - it is a shared ground "point" (left and right) - but it could still be a wire issue between the "point" and the socket.

Re: Outside taillight out
When I measure the voltage at the green brown wire that goes into the socket I only measure .1 volts. Even when I measure the black red wire that goes to the stoplight that is working, I only measure .3 volts. Not sure what is going on here. I verified my voltmeter was working by measuring at the battery terminals and read 12.1 volts so I know my voltmeter is working. I used the screw that fastens the taillight assembly and I also used the terminal where the grounds are connected and same.
Color coding is:
Tallight positive: Green/Brown
Tallight ground: Black/Brown
Brakelight: Red/Black with a gray stripe

Re: Outside taillight out
Is this the "running lights" - come one when the headlights are on - or the actual brake light?
I only ask as the "red/black" lines up with the running lights? If the headlights are on, are you getting 12v on the "red/black".....
