Not sure about that yet, I'm too in love with the noise of it to really care yet.

Question, what kind of tubing can I get that doesn't melt? I could run a tube from the bumper or the hole from where the stock air box was and direct it under the intake.

What are you trying to accomplish by doing this? would it be to cool the air near your intake around the engine bay thats getting sucked in?

As I drive along, the air goes into the tube and hits the filter, which is sucking the cold air in.

It sounds like you might as well get a cold air intake then. Just having cold air blown near your short intake won't work anywhere near as well as directly sucking cold air from the fender into your intake

Rayo, its more than doable.. It will just take some fitment and some working up..

For starters your filter is in the wrong place, it really needs to be just behind the headlight..

Secondly, for the hose to run down into the bumper
http://www.amazon.com/Woodstock-W102...609175&sr=8-11
Thats the sort of thing you want.. I used that exact hose for my accord and my setup works fine..
Mind you, it is never going to be as effective as a cold air intake, but it doesnt have any of the hydrolock issues though...

I have about 4 or 5 ft of hosing left back from my install.. Make me an offer and maybe I can sell it to you?

However you greatly reduce the chances of a hydro-lock. Which there have been several threads where that has occurred. And there is nothing wrong at all with having a SRI with air directed towards it.

So wait, that looks like the things people put on the ends of their gutters to point water towards plants, holes etc. Wouldn't it melt since it's plastic?

Mine doesn't look tacky at all because sitting in the bumper is one of these...

Its a Blox 3" I.D. velocity stack.. I assume it helps the hose/ducting to take up a lot more air than it would have otherwise.. Have it down low in the lower grille..
Most people don't even notice its there, but those who do are impressed by how we got it to fit so neatly..

2.5" hose will be a lot easier to work with though and if you were to purchase the same one I did or something similar, I promise it wont melt.. Its "industrial grade" whatever they mean by that.. But its pretty hefty stuff

Anyway, up to him what he wants to do.. Yes I spend a fair amount of money and trouble setting up my ducting, but for some of us a CAI was not even an option..

the only problem i see with that black tubing is that it isnt smooth, so you will be sending turbulent air through the hose which wont be as efficient as a smooth tube. what about steel house duct tubes?
