h22a4 engine problem
short story, i was driving back home when i notice
the strong smell of exhaust, so i pull over and i
checked under car to see if i had a leak. so i then
shut the car off and then start it again but now the
car was hesitatin, lacked on power and didnt let me rev
more than 1500rpm, i pull the car home, proceded to
check for problem, changed the ign. coil and icm for
ones i have extra, no luck, check dist. cap and rotor
they are fine. changed my spark plugs n wires no luck
neither, then checked for codes and im getting random
misfire and o2 heater.....wonder if the cat might be at
fault since i get such strong smell and muffler tip creates
lots of condensation

well,a partially clogged cat doesnt allow your rpms to go higher than normal or in your case 1500..but now what is the smell you speak of??

Re: h22a4 engine problem
If you have a code for the O2 heater then maybe the O2 is not working and the computer thinks the engine is not hot enough (Open Loop Opereation) and flooding the engine. The excess fuel is burning in the Cat causing the smell, do this at night and see if the Cat is glowing Red Hot when you look under the car??? It could be the floor and carpet getting way too hot.
