More torque from a honda? Does that even exist??
Was wondering what are the main ways to get more torque out of an accord ??? haha. Besides turbo, if that even adds, sorry im a newb, thanks. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif

There are three methods of producing more torque
1) Higher Compression (with it's attending issues) -- Flat Top / Domed Pistons - detonation, requires hi-octain fuels. etc. 2) Longer stroke (with it's attending issues) -- Stroker Crank Kits - produce more torque, but limit RPM due to Conn rod angle/length issues. 3) Gear ratio changes thru the transmission (torque multiplication) P |

there is the third option, bore it out to get more displacement. Boring out is OK as long as you don't make the cylander sleeve walls too thin. Your best bet with a F series would to be turbo, but you can use all the things mentioned so far
higher compression (not if you are going to torbo or supercharge) Stroke it Bore it Using an ex or h22a tranny with a F22 will do the MOST to get you better 0-60 times but you are going to pay the price in fuel ecomony (4K at 70mph versus 3K) The 15hp increase that the V-tec engine offers does not account for the 2+ sec difference to 60 versus the lighter LX model. 15hp might at best get you .5 sec. Bore and stroke will allow you to use the stock ecu without modification as it can account for the slight increase in displacement. |

stroking an F22??......that would be a one-off thing, and would be completly idiotic unless it was for some highly specific and highly unique application....in general, smaller motors are better off reving higher....and the gains by stroking the motor will be overshadowed by the motors limited power band

Since that thing has a low redline and pretty stong internals, I would not be too worried about boring/stroking it to 2.3L or 2.4L. Redline is 6500 and boring it out to 2.3L and stoking it to 2.4L would not affect the redline in any way. After all honda has been doing that since the thing was a 2L engine and now they are up to 2.4L

If you're looking for the increased displacement route; I would suggest Installing oversized sleeves / Oversized H/Compression Pistons:
http://www.darton-international.com/main_fr.htm Standard stroke Knife Edged crank. Port & polished Head / larger valves And a final drive ratio change in the Trans to take advantage of the higher RPM capability. P |

Boosted F,H,G series= torque

Re: More torque from a honda? Does that even exist?? (Group A)
G-series is a hybrid between F series motors and H series motors. ive read of an F22block/H22 head hybrid. try searching G series for more detailed info

Search the lude forum and you'll find a couple of write-ups

Re: More torque from a honda? Does that even exist??
With a modified stock intake and an apexi catback (still had the cat. though) I made more torque than hp... 135 ft. lbs @ the wheels.
I made more torque than hp spraying a 50 shot (kinda low on bottle pressure but whatever). I will have to look through my old dyno sheets for exact numbers but needless to say it was a pretty noticeable increase (edit: 188 ft. lbs@ wheels). Only mods at the time were a the nitrous kit, modified stock intake, and the same catback exhaust (agian still had the cat.). Also made more torque than hp on low boost (7.5-8 psi), was running through small full exhaust at the time (still same apex'i catback, no cat., 18" resonator). Made almost 250 ft. lbs but agian I would need to refer to the dyno charts for the exact numbers (edit: 243 ft. lbs @ wheels). Ran open dp with more boost and put down quite a bit more hp than torque... still was alot of tq for a honda though. Seems our motors make some great low end power, got to love our big sohc's. |

I will try to get some more information posted up after I get out of work tomm... guess I should probably try to get some sleep before then, insomnia is fun like that.

put a h22, h23a(vtec) or a f20b head on your block... you'll gain some hp and torque for sure.

Downshifting has and always will be the cheapest option. |
lol, yeah people always think my car is a race car cause I can downshift much faster(and easier) than in their automatic. I don't like the sound auto transmissions make when you manuelly downshift, lol.

You must have an auto? At 3k im almost at 80. As for the torque, look into the options stated above, but i suggest doing deep research if you are serious about it. |

spray is the easiest way to gain torque
