As slightly detailed in this WTB thread my friend made here, the knock sensor is snapped in half on my engine and needs to be replaced. (Like everyone else with a F23A1 engine, I snapped it trying to change the head gasket.)

Now, when I look up the sensor on AutoZone or AdvanceAutoParts, I get this: Knock Sensor for 1999 Acura CL 4-cyl

But, if I look up the knock sensor for the 6-cyl J32 engine on the 2001-2003 CL, I get this: Knock Sensor for 2002 Acura CL 6-cyl

Can someone tell me what the differences between these sensors are? Are there any?

Or simply, can I buy the cheap one and have it work fine or no?

You want the first one, that one is for a 4 cylinder. The second one is for a 6 cyl.

Okay, then can you explain to me the difference between a 4-cyl and 6-cyl knock sensor?

Honda had a warranty issue with the J knock sensors. They increased stock at the Honda parts warehouses. So the price went down. The price used to be the same as the 4 cyl sensor! Its simple supply and demand. I am running an 03 Ody. knock sensor on my H22 with no problems.
