low idle on 96 honda accord
my idle is very low at cold start on my 96 honda accord lx. I have had some work done on the car. A new timing belt and water pump and a tuneup. the rpms are at about 500 in park and a little lower once in gear but eventually when car gets warm it gets to 750rpms. What could be the problem.. The iac vavle has already been cleaned and there is no fluctuating where it goes up and down

Cel?
There is an idle adjust procedure. Check youtube, and do a search.
Something like this..
disconnect iac at temp , turn idle screw till 450 rpms or whatever, plug back in iac. Use a pick to remove the idle screw sealant.
Try it and keep track of where it was so you can always go back.
There is a wax nut that turns in the thermovalve, that is the cold idle adjustment. Screw around in there and see what happens.

Re: low idle on 96 honda accord
Try cleaning your throttle body and all the ports for the FIT and IAC valves. Also where this only happens on a cold engine you may want to ensure that your coolant system has been properly bled. An air bubble trapped in around your ECT sensor can show a false readings and cause idle issues.
Do you know if the electronic idle was reset after the work was completed? There really shouldn't be any need to adjust the idle air mixture or the FIT valve if there were no issues before the timing belt and tune up was performed.

Re: low idle on 96 honda accord
I have had some issues with cheap knock off parts. Both sensors and valves I have tried had different values or at least base setting. So that inexpensive china made FIT needed to be adjusted for climate zone , and altitude. Once dialed close to right the engine management operated accordingly.
If you take apart and clean the TB the FIT valve disc may have turned while apart. I don't know if you knew what your doing , or what you did exactly.
