Default Transmission Control Unit

I have an 02 accord, auto. I am looking to change obd2 to 1. Do I have a separate TCU? If I do, will the obd1, with conversion harness plug into the TCU? If not would I need an obd1 ecu and TCU? Would a auto tranny from an F22 engine bolt up to my F23?

You takin it racing? OBD-2 -> 1 conversions are illegal. apart from that, lookup the service manuals and see if the ecu talks to the tcu.

Why is the conversion illegal and how can they tell? What do you mean if the ecu talks to the tcu? They are one unit in the obd2, and 2 units in obd1, in either case wouldnt they communicate with each other? Or are you saying from the service manual I would be able to tell if the can communicate?

i know that if you do any obd 1 or 2 conversions that is not illegal in washington as long as you can pass emissions in some counties depending which one you live in. as far as tcu goes i think you might have to get an obd 1 tcu seperate from the ecu if you can find it for cheap i would experiment with that are you using a jumper harness?

I live in Ohio and right now we don't have any emissions testing, so I don't need to worry about that. From what I have read that is what I would need, an ECU and TCU from an automatic obd1 car. What do you mean by jumper harness, like a conversion harness? The other thing I need to know is even if I get the obd1 tcu can my f23 be controlled by it?

if it bolts up to the motor than i wouldnt see why it wouldnt work as long as the wiring is all right and ya i call a conversion harness a jumper harness its the same thing

good to know. that way if I cant figure out a way to make my f23 tranny controlled by the obd1 i can swap in an f22 which i know someone who made it work.

Anyone happen to have the pinouts for my ecu? I have found some but I am not sure if they are for civics or not. See link: http://hondaswap.com/reference-mater...pinouts-28667/

uhm pre '98 accords had a ECM and a TCU All newer accords have them combined into one unit.

Exactly, thats why I need to figure out if an obd1 + separate obd1 tcu can control the f23 transmission. I think to do that I need to get pinouts for the ecu to make sure everything will hook up.
