location of Fuel pump on 94 accord
I want to install a fuel kill switch on my 94 accord. i read how to do it on the integra, to pull out the rear seats and find the fuel pump, but how do i do it on an accord?
is the fuel pump located the same place?
what wires should i look for? should i just cut one of the wires from the pump? which one is the negative wire?

have fun looking for the fuel pump, it's all the way inside of the tank which you have to drop the whole thing before you can reach it

correct me if im wrong but the wires and harness for the fuel pump are located underneath the trunk liner, but you can't access the fuel pump unless you drop the tank but the wires are all there.

Re: location of Fuel pump on 94 accord (brads94accord)
those wires are for the sending units power and ground. I just installed a Walbro 255lph in my 97 and you have to disconnect those wries and take the plate off before you drop the tank because they go to the fule pump about 5 inched to the right of the wires and panel(if your in the backseat facing out the trunk). Its not too hard unless oyu have aftermarket exhaust. i suggest removing that and then there is a fuel tank cover thats a pain in the *** to take off along with the exhaust heat sheilding.

why are you all droping the tank... there is an access plate to get to the pump from inside the car.
save the hassle, no need to drop the fuel tank unless you are setting up a sump system.

Given how often the main relays failing cause a car not to start, could you not wire the kill switch into the wires for the main relay? They seem to do such a good job on their own of refusing to let the car start.
Usually the access plate is for the fuel level sending unit only. I've always read that the tank has to be dropped for the pump.

I personally have changed a pump in a 4th gen prelude, 5th gen accord, and a gen 2 integra... without a problem or droping the tank. The prelude was the most difficult cause the pumps replacement was physically much larger.
It is a tight fit getting the pump out through the top but it is very possible, if your replacement pump is a larger diameter you will have some issues though.

there is no way that you can replace a fuel pump on a 5th gen Accrod without dropping the tank. That plate is soo far away from the actual pump that its impossible to do. If you do get it unbolted then your real good wihtout dropping that tank, but you still cannot pull the fuel pump out of the car. Simple as that.
However for the fuel cut off i would tap that wire that goes into that plate and run a power to the battery or other constant and then to a relay that goes to a switch then to the sending unit. For 255's the run constant despite Hondas voltage drop.

well I guess I just got lucky then... can anyone prove this with a picture of the access plate removed (nothing else). I would but my car is not here right now.
I am not understanding how I have previously had no trouble with this method of install and removal.

Re: location of Fuel pump on 94 accord (accordfreak)
I was looking for a pic of the access panel removed and the tank installed still ( I check out that thread already)... something that shoulds show the offset of the fuel pump cover lid in relation to the access panel in the car. Its not that much of an offset to the side.
I did have to unbolt the tank and lower it slightly (with a floorjack under it) until the pump and assembly come out at an slight angle... right through the interior access plate. tank never had to touch the ground nor the car be on a lift though.
to each his own I guess... I was use to doing it this way. The lude was said to be a PITA too but I had no problems this way.

I have a 94 accord, so your saying i dont need to drop the tank to replace the fuel pump. Where exactly is this access panel to the fuel pump, i know of the one inside the trunk, however thats just the sending unit, correct? i would like to do this without droppping the tank, so your help would be greatly apprecaited.

In a 94 Honda Accord I cut a hole in the trunk to access the fuel pump and is way easier than dropping the gas tank even though it seems Impossible but I did it with wire cutters and just cut it then twist left to right ro get more room to stick it in deeper to cut more because it will seem like you can't get it to cut anymore but if you work at it it will work out for you just stick to it and take lots of breaks because it's hard but not as hard as it looks!
