idle again
I have been trying to figure out a idle surge problem from the many posts on this forum concerning the topic.
I have cleaned the screen in the iacv. no help
I cleaned the fitv. no help
I tested the iacv off the battery. It clicked so I assume it works?
I tested the voltage of the tps. It was .56 closed. I understand it should be .5v. Do not know if .56 is fine?
I tested the tps fully open. It was 4.7. I read it should be 4.8. Do not know if 4.7 is fine?
PCV appears fine
Cant find any vacume leaks
The car idles from 1500 to 2500 when first started. Does not matter if its cold or hot.
Any idea what the problem is?

I turned the idle screw and it didnt really seem to make any difference. Not being a mechanic I do not know what that means but would think it should have some affect when I turned it?

car runs the same after everything i did as b4 i started messing with it.
dont know if this is anything but i read to take out the "backup" fuse to reset it or something like that. when i took the fuse out it was blown. will check to see if it is blown again.

Re: idle again (accord9t3)
if its a fuel injected motor this is what to do: under the hood theres gonna be a little oval type shaped cap with two screws on it just to the right of the throttle body, take off the 2 screws and the cap or lid or whatever you wanna call it and inside should be a little black plastic thing, all you have to do it turn the platic thing down into the hole more till it bottoms out then put the cap back on and fire it up, should fix your problem, if your not sure what im speaking off email me at b8er@hotmail.com or add me to msn , i can get pictures if you like

I've got a project 95 with the same problem. i've checked vacuum hoses/gaskets, the diaphram, idle screw, burped the coolant numerous times and even flushed it. throwing no codes. but i noticed on mine that it doesnt start the erratic idle until it gets warm.. once the engine lowers its idle RPM because the engine is warm is when it starts the rev'ing

Re: idle again (accord9t3)
I had this problem for years. Its a bad thermostat. Replace the thermostat and gasket. Mine was stuck open. The car was actually cold but because warming water was flowing through the system instead of being held until the motor reached full operating temp, it drove the sensors wild.
