Default $500 to spend on a 7th gen accord. Your suggestions?

I'm going to be getting a bunch of money from a website sale, and I'm taking about $500 and throwing it into my car. It's a 2 door 4cyl coupe (2005). What would YOU spend it on? A few friends have told me I should get a vtec controller, but I don't really feel that I need one. Cold Air Intake? I don't care if it's performance or cosmetic, I just like putting money into it!

But really, what would you get?

I would try to find someone selling a t3 turbo and manifold.
Then peice the rest of it together as extra money comes in.

But thats what I would buy.

You should try to find a lowering shocks and springs combo. It will be a little bit more then 500 but not much.
and sometimes you can find deals

Where do you suggest I buy my parts from online, or should I stick to a local shop?

Both, but like they both said, save your money, 500$ isn't going to get you far. If you did it all yourself, you could get away with spending $1000 on intake/exhaust/header.

If you go into a local tuner shop, sometimes they have parts laying around they could sell you cheap, but its doubtful, especially with a 7th gen accord. I buy all my parts from SportCompactOnly, good cheap prices. You can also look on ebay, which usually have as equally cheap prices.

I'd put the cash toward Performance Driving School. To me, that'll be better than any mod.

OHHHHHH my sweet sweet dreams

i'd get some scheduled maintenance done. THEN work on the suspension.

I'm at about 8100 miles and got everything checked at 7500, all fluids changed, alignment, and whatever else they do. Is that what you would consider enough?

if it's only on 8100 miles, i would not do any engine mods even if it is bolt on due to sensitive warranty issues. some people who have 50,000+ miles are accused of stupid warranty voids by an intake. at this point MAYBE do a suspension setup, MAYBE carbon fiber hood, MAYBE do lips and skirts. not even rims and tires because i doubt your tires are worn yet.

Pick up a nice Alpine head unit, mp3/wma player. ~ $250. I believe you'll need a kit, ~ $150. Toss the other $100 into either speakers, or into savings.

thats pricey... if you can install it yourself you can get a pretty good sound system for about 500 from ebay. and ya if i had 500 to spend thats what id buy first because that body style car is already beautiful as it is and as they said up top warentee issues are not worth the engine mods. body kits and crap like that in my opinion look cheesy on that model, so if i was you id go sound system. you could get it done for about 500 maybe 600 tops and if you have to pay somebody to install it then ur looking at 700... id go sony head unit just because i like their designs. rockford fosgate punch stage 2 12 inch sub i have one and honestly i havent found a better sub for the money. any box will do they run about 40-50 bux. and then top it off with some alpine type S speakers. oh and then you need an amp id go alpine, rockford, or JL they are cheap as long as you dont buy one thats too powerful and with the sub you can afford at that price 150 should cut it for an amp.if you dont want to install it yourself though i suggest going to a little audio shop because if you buy a complete system from them most of the time you can convince them to install it for free. but you could do it all around that 500 price range. but dont be a fool and buy some cool looking garbage sub with chrome flames on it i hate when morons do that buy it for sound not looks, i mean prime example JL audio makes some of the best audio equipment u can buy and all you see on them is black with a JL symbol. then you find these morons with audibahn subs in some ******* glow in the dark box with chrome flames bumping sound that sounds like a fat guy farting just a total waste to me but to each his own.

No offense man, but the only way I would follow that advice is if I didn't care about sound clarity.

Already have a sound system (tweeters up front, two 12" subs) that I'm satisfied yet. Not really worried about the warranty because I'm an idiot.

The OEM Honda HFP suspension makes for a nice improvement in handling, it is cheap, and it does not void any warranty items.

You might want to get a picture of what the OEM Honda HFP spoiler and fog lights look like. These are also available for modest sums of money and are warranty-OK. If you have splash guards, the front spoiler will flow into the lines provided by the splash guards and you wouldn't look silly w/out the side pieces.

http://www.handaaccessories.com/accord03.html <--They list the HFP Suspension for six cylinders only, but you might want to check with a dealer. It seems to me I've definitely seen HFP suspensions for four cylinder cars.

the stock tires on my 04 4cyl sedan were near bald at 13,000 miles (even though my dealer said they were fine and I had my tires lock up twice in normal driving ). Michelin MX4 Plus tires, 180 some bucks retail, were worn at 13,000 miles... I couldn't believe it. And it wasn't like I was trying to pull every single turn as hard as I could, or burned out at every intersection, just normal driving.

The HFP spring rates are for the six. I haven't seen pictures of it on the four though. I plan to get either the Neuspeed Supercupkit or Koni Yellows+H&R Sports. For $500.. you could do a bit. I picked up an AEM CAI for $85, Neuspeed Upper Front Strut Bar for $80, front lip for $180. I'm spending quite a bit more than $500 though.. my exhaust alone was over $500.
