I need major help
I have a 97 accord and i recently swapped my f22b2 SOHC non-vtec for a f22b1 SOHC non-vtec the problem is the crank sensor in the b1 is in the distributor not on the block so my mechanic re-wired it and got all the sensors to work together. The engine turns over but does not stay running every thing is working like it should, fuel, spark everything, and there is only one code in the computer which is the intake temp code. My mechanic and me are lost and out of ideas please help.

Not sure if it was a typo or not but the F22B1 is a SOHC VTEC. What ECU are you using?
• Fix the IAT sensor issue
• Test your IAC and FIT valves and make sure they are operating properly
• Check your fuel pressure @ the rail (38-46psi w/FPR vacuum hose disconnected) With the FPR hose connected is should be 30-37psi and the pressue should gradually rise when the hose is disconnected. If it doesn't, replace the FPR.

Re: I need major help
it was a typo it says f22b on the engine, I purchased the engine from canada. but i am using the stock ECU out of the 97 accord EX which that motor was a f22b2. Physically looking at the motor its the same thing except for some minor things on the block and the distributor. i will talk to my mechanic and let him know to check those things if he hasnt already. Thanks

Re: I need major help
F22B is the designation used by 3 JDM F series engines.
F22B - SOHC Non VTEC
F22B - SOHC VTEC
F22B - DOHC Non VTEC
The JDM F22B SOHC Non VTEC is identical to the OBD1 F22B2. (Canadian EX Accord)
Good luck

FYI, you should try not to thread jack in the future. Start your own thread to ask your questions. Or post in a thread that is dealing with a similar problem at least.

Re: I need major help
ok my mechanic has checked all of the things you listed and they are good. The main issue with this swap has been the distributor it has an internal coil and the crank sensor is also in the distributor. The engine I took out has an external coil and the crank sensor was on the block. we got the engine to fire but it just doesnt run it will run good for a couple of seconds and then it just dies.

Did your mechanic relocate both of the sensors from the oil pump housing? The TDC sensor and the CKP (crank) sensor are both located in the distributor of the JDM F22B.

Re: I need major help
Yes he did. the distributor housing code is TD-53U which goes to an accord f22A series non-vtec, and the prelude F22B DOHC non-vtec. the motor i purchased is F22B SOHC non-vtec which this distributor came on the motor. could this be the problem.
