Default Trunk strut question

When I pull the latch on my 95 Accord, the trunk doesn't pop up. It never did, and it never occured to me that maybe it should! hehe.. But anyway, should the trunk open itself atleast a little after you pull the latch? Or the latch just unlocks it and you still have to push it up yourself?

Thx

Mine has never poped up by itself. Usually I actually have to pull kind of hard to get it open.

mine pops open a little bit, as long as you can open it i don't really see any need to waste your time with it though.

is it because the struts are dead then? Should I replace the strut?

I think the 5th gen uses the same design as the 4th, its more af a tension rod, not a strut, and it can be adjusted

mine doesn't pop up at all. I could pull the lever and hear it pop but it will still look closed. Doesn't bother me any though, I kinda like it better that way.

they used the funky design on the 94/5 ones w/ all those hinges and crap, the 6th gen accord has the 2 hinges and the trunk pops up, i think the 94/5 is good thugh cause none of the crap in the trunk gets squashed like it does w/ the 6th gen design
