My 94 5spd LX Accord just rolled 103,000 miles. Since i bought my first car, i like to upgrade my car often as i get a little more cash. I was wondering how much reasonbly longer i can hold on to this car, since there is nothing major wrong with it. My reasoning is that the more maintenace work i do on it, the harder it is to sell it and for example get a upgraded model accord. I have changed the CV joints, which usually go about 100k miles. I now have lifetime Alignment on my car and lifetime balance on my tires. The clutch still feels fine. If i have to change the timing belt, might as well i keep the car. Am I in a detrimental treat already to change the timing belt since it just gone over 100k miles?
How many miles are you guys getting out of your accord and it still be totally problem free?
I am OK with doing maintenance work on it, but just want it to still be reliable.

I now have 290k miles using dino oil changed every 3.5k miles, and towing trailers since 150k miles. This tread is inspirational to know how long I can expect to keep my Accord.

3/23/2018 314,398 mile (2002 accord lx special edition 2.3L vtec auto trans) I've done minor repairs/ mait. Have no issues . My Jane still pulls well over130++ mph and will scream tire off any stop light .. Been the best most reliable car I've ever owned . I do plan to rebuild internal motor when its time and do some performance keep all numbers matched and love that she's a 100% numbers matching original car and will never part. Doty13 love my Jane accord

696,000 miles..1995 accord..uncle bought it new and now i added to my collection..still runs good..i use it to daily

Man! My Accord looks like a baby compared these high mileage cars...I have a 1994 Accord LX with 332K miles on the original engine, transmission, and clutch. I use it almost daily and still runs good though I am working through a couple of oil leaks though I started out with a number of them. The car has been through about 3 accidents (one of them was mine) and I even had NOS on it in my early years.
My next goal is 333,333 which should be in about a month or so. I am hoping to stay on the original clutch through 400K but that is a number of years away so who knows.

'02 Accord almost 386K miles on it. Just maintenance, timing belt changes, valves adjust, oil changes at 3K and that's it. Runs and drives great! The auto trans. is acting up a bit so might need major work there but the engine has had nothing major.

My 92 accord has 310,788 miles on it. I must say I am replacing sum things but that's the norm. After all it's 26 years old. It runs well besides the normal wear and tear. Just gotta stay on top of the maintenance to prevent big probs.

That's true with anything though: if you use it, it will show wear and tear. If you want to maintain ability and value, fix it as you go. You wouldn't overlook a broken leg would you? Don't overlook a rust spot, damaged part, etc. The sooner you fix it, the easier it is to fix.
My Accord: 2002 Special Edition, 4 cylinder automatic (wish she was a manual!) 181,000 miles.

I have a 2002 with 163k miles and a 2000 with 314,000.
The 2000 is about to be retired though. Transmission is in bad shape. It's been driven hard and still never failed me other than 1 time when a brand new alternator failed.

As of today my 1991 Accord Aerodeck has 311,093 miles and it runs great. The motor is a JDM F-22B out of a 1993 Prelude. After my wife bought the car I found a P39 (1994 JDM Prelude) computer on eBay from a guy in Scotland and the engine loves having the correct computer.

My 2000 SE has 144k miles, I've had it since new. The only catastrophic failures I've had are the ignition
immobilization mysteriously failed about 10 years ago and some parts had to be replaced.
I still don't fully understand what happened to it.
Secondly the automatic transmission after progressively getting worse and worse over approx. six months
was replaced about two years ago

2002 Accord EX with 170,000 miles on the body and tranny. Engine was replaced with a JDM with ??? miles - you know what they say, 'less than 50k miles' but who knows? I pulled the valve cover and in fairness it looked bright and clean with no sludge.
I have to admit I kind of neglected this car for a few years while I was doing a rolling restoration of a sports car. I changed the oil and that's about it, so I'm really looking forward to getting some work done. I already replaced the gas tank, filler hose, charcoal canister and two-way valve, wire-wheled and painted the exhaust from front to back, as well as the calipers; I'm looking forward to refreshing the entire suspension over the summer, then adding a decent head unit to make this baby a clean daily driver.

My first is a 1999 ULEV 4 cyl; tranny went at 230,000 but engine just purrs.
And 1999 6 cyl EX, tranny went at 170,000 so I put a rebuilt in it (from a Sacramento shop on ebay). Not perfect shifting, but I like driving it cuz it's fast.
Now a 2000 4-cyl SE that was shifting poorly at 143,000 that I found for $900. Put a JDM tranny in it and its ok: needs tlc shifting into 2nd.
I went ahead and put the SE's tranny in the ULEV just to drive it a little bit. So I've got the two '99 trannys that I'd like to rebuild. Maybe when the last kids graduate and I declutter the garage. I'm still doing this stuff in the driveway and I'm too damn old.

Wow, I was concerned about owning a 20 year old car that I bought just last year, a 1999 Accord EX 2.3 5 speed manual. Have about 171k on it now. I know routine maintenance and some attention will be required, but reading these posts I realize putting some money into a 20 year old Honda is likely a wise investment. One of my customers is a Honda dealership.Told the manager about my recently purchased '99. He said that's a good generation - before the touchscreens and at times unreliable electronics in later models. Recently Honda promoted the sound system volume control is a **** again. I like the basic form follows function styling of the older gen Accords (gotta admit - if I won the lottery I'd consider a new Accord Sport if it could still be had with a manual trans.)
Mine runs great - it's fun to drive, handles really well. Everything works. Much better gas mileage than the Subaru Forester I had. Don't need AWD as I have a 4WD truck. Not concerned about high miles since I have a company vehicle. But - many posts I've seen mention their 200k + cars are their daily drivers. Owned 2 new Hondas in the 1980s, glad to be back.
