Hi there,
The engine light has been on for about a month and a half, took it to a Honda dealer for diagnostic and had been told there was nothing wrong, the code reset ok.
Then a week later the light was on again, brought it back and this time had told the gas tank leaked, ok replaced it with a new gas cap, then it was about 2 weeks later the light was on once again, and then the EVAP control canister leaked, replaced a new ones with new hoses, the problem solved?
NOPE....I bought a new code reader and did it my self and it read a code P1456. according to a Digital OBDII code reader guide book, under this code is " EVAP Emission Control System Leak Detected(Fuel Tank System).
It smells gasoline inside the car, even I had replaced some as mentioned above.
Please help and see what else should I have to replace more?

You need to have the system smoke tested to determine the source of the leak. The most problematic area I have encountered on accords is the fuel vapor exchange pipe seal on the filler neck. Its a 10 cent fix not including any rust or damage you may cause removing it.

This would not explain a fuel odor in the car very well though. Are you leaking fuel? Were the repairs you had performed done correctly?

Dear Honda Tech,
No I am not leaking fuel, but recently it smells exhaust smoke inside the car, only when stop at traffic light or park the car with the engine runs idle, unfortunately there are 5 Honda dealerships in Ottawa Canada NONE of them have SMOKE TEST SYSTEM.
Is it difficult to change the seal on the filler neck? if not, could you please show me how to do it correctly and it is great if you included images and what kind of tools I should have please indicate it too?.

Fuel odor and exhaust are two different smells.

An exhaust leak requires that you find the source of intrusion into the car, and then fix the exhaust leak, in that order. Most common leak points are the shifter seal, and the hood seal. Depending on the condition and ability to diagnose, it may be more reasonable to fix the exhaust leak instead of pinpointing where it is entering the car from.
