Default Help with 94 Accord non- runner please!!! Urgent

Hi there

Im looking at a 1994 Accord SE estate tomorrow thats up for sale cheap due to it non running because of an electric fault - the lady said that she has left it to long and it just wouldnt start one morning - an AA guy came out who said it needed new battery, plugs and something to do with the distributor - could this be a new cap or is the distributor sealed on these models? Can anyone help? if I was to buy how expensive would this cost if it needed a new distributor?

Many thanks

Troy

The distribuitor assembly can cost around $250... most places would give you part of the money back when you bring the old distribuitor.
You can find at discount auto, pepboys, autozone and on the internet as well. Example: tasauto.com
Good luck with the car, I think it's a great buy!!!

The bits in the distributor are servicable seperately. The items I would anticipate replacing are:
1) Distributor cap (#2 in supplied illustration) (PN# 30102-PT3-A12
2) Distributor rotor (#3 in supplied illustration) (PN# 30103-PO8-003)
3) Ignition Ignitor (fancy name for 'module') (#8 in illustration) (PN# 30130-P12-006)

You may have to replace, because of fuel fouling (From unsuccessful starting attempts)
4) Spark Plugs (4)

I can't include prices since I don't know the exchange rate from US dollars, but if you need I may be able to scare up the Honda P# eqivilent (DONE)

Cheers
P

ps: I'll be most surprised if you can find either a "Pepboys" or an "AutoZone" in the UK. (some of us are still a little "colonial" in our thinking

Not a Problem.

Besides making snide remarks at silly a...s questions, genuinely trying to help is why we're here. (Well MOST of us anyway)

Run up against a problem?, give us a ring. Someone will help muddle through.
