Help - 1996 UK/EU Honda Accord 2.0i Diagnostic Help Needed
Hi Guys,
OK, here's the deal, I have spent weeks trying to sort this myself with a friend and a lot of googling but no avail so I must turn to you experts to help.
Right, I have a official Honda Diagnostic Model (HIM) and the appropriate software, I know the kit works as I have tried it on my friends 2000 Honda CR-V with no problems which obviously has a ODB2 Connector.
My 1996 Honda Accord does NOT, it has a 5 Pin Diagnostic Cable under the passenger side glovebox, so I managed to get hold of a cable that converts the 5 Pin Honda connector to the OBD2 end. Provides power to the unit OK but when it tries to communicate it falls over with a PGM-FI Unavailable error.
What I figured it maybe the cable is not wired up the right way, other than the power of course, so what I was hoping one of you guys would have is some sort of wiring diagram so show what pins on the 5 Pin should go to in a OBD2.
Just a pity as well as my Honda box came with a official Honda 3 Pin to OBD2 but my car has the 5 Pin and not the 3 Pin, Grrrr.
Anyway, any help you guys can give is much appreciated.
Thanks.
Jamie
