Default h22a vs f20b 97 accord

hey guys im having trouble choosing between an h22 and a f20b. i know there is threads already covering this dilema. but the difference is my 97 accord is automatic.. now i had bought a automatic h22 tranny thinking i was forsure buying the h but i had recently called the guy i was going to buy the motor from and he didnt have any h22 obd2 motors in thats going to cost 1300+tax but he is going to get a shipment in on sat but ther is a chance he wont get any of those motors in. now he has the f20b motor in now for 800+tax and a ecu is an extra 150. now i aready have the h tranny if i choose to go with the f would the auto h tranny work good. or should i wait for the obd2 h motor to come in. from what i read (correct me if im wrong) the h22 has 200hp and for an automatic f20b (now this is coming from the guy that is selling the motor) has 185hp. now i kno thats not really what they make when there in the car. but 15hp is alot for a honda. im not really looking to be the fastest out there but i want my car not to get smashed on by every lilttle bucket. as far as building the motor i will like to do it but some were down the road when a get a good job. but for now this will be my daily driver. but im forsure going to get i/h/e. any body has a suggestions on what i should.

obd2 motor is not necessary get the obd 1 and either convert the motor or the ecu.

yea i know that i can do that but from what i read the wiring will be alot harder. sounds to me like the obd2 will be alot easier. as far as the tranny goes like i said my car is already an automatic i really dont have the funds now to do a manual conversion maybe down the road.

The H22 auto tranny will work good in your F20B. It'll still pull and thats if the engine's in healthy condition.

Just be sure to do a h23 manual tensioner conv for a piece of mind.
