fuel filter nightmare
i was using hondadude's tek on fuel filter changing and stripped out the banjo bolt on the bottom of the filter. does anyone know if i can cut the old line close to the filter and splice a new end and banjo bolt using a compression coupling?

what ar you gonna use to cut it, a torch? Use vise grips, and dont expletive it up next time. Get someone who knows what they are doing to use a proper repair line, and make sure that is is rated for the 90 PSI max pressure.

screw a torch, c-4 works much better. i'm gonna use a black cat as the detonator.
i was planning on using imp tube cutters. i do plumbing and have special cutters that can get in tight places. we regularly use compression fittings for 1/2" copper tubing, but i don't know if there is similar fittings the size of a fuel line.

which do i use, i'd show a pic of c-4 but that would be incriminating. i don't feel like getting hit w/ a ban stick.

might be tough to get the tubing cutter down in there and rotate it around the line, then you have to re-flair it in a tight area.

Re: fuel filter nightmare (momstaxi)
that thing in the top right hand corner of the pic is my small tube cutters. if they make compression fittings the size of a fuel line then flaring wont be needed.

Re: (JDM_DC4_Fanatic)
i got it (torch joke), but some people are that dumb. i used mini tube cutters and got it just fine, but i wasn't able to cut out the excess created by the coupling so now i can't remount the filter to the frame. i got it all together but it is leaking, game plan is wait for tomorrow and tighten the hell out of it all. to bad pipe dope wasn't engineered for fuel lines.

How much is it to replace the part?
I went through a busted banjo bolt hose when I changed the fuel filter on my Volvo a few months ago - spent $35 on a new part and was good to go.
If it's not that expensive, just replace it and be done with it.
