fuel delivery...

long story short: the fuel pump in my '96 accord died. i dropped the fuel tank... labeling each fuel line as i disconnected them. replaced the fuel pump... so now i can hear it energize when i go to start the car. unfortunately, however, i'm not getting any fuel to my fuel rail. (i disconnected the bolt that holds the hard line to the fuel rail... energized the pump... and nothing comes out).
any ideas on what might be preventing fuel from reaching the fuel rail? i replaced the fuel filter about 2 or so years ago... so i'm inclined to think that it's not a fuel filter problem.
comments? suggestions?

thanx!

Re: fuel delivery... (DevontElan)

I would first check to see if the there is fuel leaking out form under the car. If not take the fuel line off the bottom of the fuel filter and then turn the ign. on and have some one see if fuel is coming out. If so the put the filter back on but leave the top bolt off. see if fuel still comes out. If no fuel replace filter. If there is fuel then connect hose back to fuel rail.

You can also check and pull the char. canister hose off and turn the ign. on and see if there is fuel in there or take the fuel reg. return hose off and see if there is fuel that comes out of the hose not the reg. If this happens you will need to drop the tank and swap some lines. Good luck
